It all started in 1812, when a handsome young cattle rancher from Kansas City, Missouri, Malcom Rare, fell in love at a square dance with a beautiful farm girl in Idaho, Sara O'Frites, as he passed through on a cattle drive.

Tom moved his family to Paris for a year and during that time Mark came out to visit. Tom took Mark to his family's favorite restaurant where they only served one thing -- steak and fries. After visiting this restaurant which always had lines down the street, Mark and Tom had an idea they should open a restaurant similar to this when Tom returned, but make it more fun and appealing to American tastes. It was one of those entrepreneurial ideas that is very seldom seen through to fruition.

"I first came here with my boss for a business dinner. I liked it so much that my wife and I went there twice more before we moved back down to Texas. The food is amazing. I have no complaints about anything. The limited menu is interesting but just trust them. They know what they are doing and they do it well. In fact, we like them so much that we order their sauce twice a year to be shipped down to Texas so we can have a date night or two that mimics, as closely as possible, the meal they serve in the restaurant. Great place, great atmosphere. You won't be disappointed."

"Amazing experience. The food was very good, we thought at first the size of portions was to be improved but then they refilled the dishes for a second round. The meat was well cooked and the fries were crunchy. We also ordered dessert, the sundae, which was giant and very good! But the best part was the staff. Very attentive and generally nice! They made the experience exceptional! Highly recommended!"
