BREAD AHEAD'S STORY
Matthew began his working life as a chef, fortunate to have worked with some of the UK's finest chefs. He became increasingly drawn to patisserie and bread-making which has shaped the past 25 years of his career as a baker.
In 2013 Matthew opened the bakery at Borough Market. He began producing breads 7 days a week, supplying the market stall and a number of local restaurants.

"Make Bread Ahead one of the places you stop to visit in Borough market. Delicious savoury and sweet options all baked to perfection, which frequently leave you asking if you should buy another."

"A fabulous bakery for bread and pastries, with the added bonus of courses to teach you to bake to the same standard; a great day and lots tasty bread products to take home."

"My first doughnut was the vanilla custard one. The vanilla tasted delicious and was not too sweet. Went back to get a second donut and got the pistachio next. This was light in flavour and also a good pairing with the doughnut. Doughnut was super soft and fluffy."
